Meal Reimbursement
Participating daycare homes and centers may be approved to claim up to two reimbursable meals (Breakfast, Lunch, or Supper) and one snack, or two snacks and one meal, to each eligible child, each day.
Participants on the CACFP cannot charge separate fees for meals while participating on program. Higher payments (Tier 1) are paid to homes in low-income areas and to low-income providers. Meals and snacks served to children who are eligible for free and reduced-price school meals also receive higher rates of reimbursement. Childcare centers must obtain an IE from every participant on the program and the family has a reimbursement rate as follows: Free, Reduced, or Paid.
